UIL Contest for the year is finally over and the kids have done an outstanding job this year. High School received a 1st division in a virtual marching COVID contest. This semester the High School band received a Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sightreading getting 1's on stage and 1's in sight reading. In addition, the 7th grade band attended the UIL region 6 concert and sightreading contest and received 1's on stage and 1's in sight reading. We are especially proud of this group because they were the youngest group at the contest using only 7th graders.
Last week the 5th grade band attended the Clyde Concert Band Festival, and they received a 1st division from every judge. The 6th and 7th grade combined band attended the Clyde Concert Band Festival, where they received 1st division from every judge. We are so proud of the work the kids have done this year, and we are so grateful for the support from parents, teachers and staff here at Bangs.
We wanted to give everyone as much advance notice on next year's dates as possible. We just got the official notice that UIL 2021 Marching Contest will be Saturday October 16, 2021 in San Angelo, TX. Next year is an advanced year for state and Area Marching Contest which will be held in Lubbock, TX on Saturday October 23, 2021.
