Congratulations to the FFA Judging Teams on their success at the Area IV FFA Judging Contest in Stephenville yesterday as five of our seven Judging Teams advanced to State by placing in the top 5 of all Area Teams in their events.

 

The Ag Mechanics Team of Logan Bishop, Jackson Light, Robert Blakely, and Keygan Pitts placed 1st in the Area as a team and all 4 boys were the top 4 overall individuals out of 25 in the contest.  The team will compete at State on April 30th at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

 

The Farm Business Management Team of Wyatt Lykins, Rylan Cates, and Landon Rivas placed 1st in the Area as a Team and was led by Wyatt and Rylan who were the1st and 2nd high overall individuals out of 41 in the contest.  The team will compete at State virtually through Sam Houston State University on April 29th. 

 

The Livestock Judging Team of Trey Ivey, Ethan Sanchez, Audrey Ivey, Luke Duncan, Rylie Guerrero, Chris Diaz, Rylee Blanton, and Ryan Duncan placed 2nd as a team was led by Trey Ivey who was the 6th high overall individual out of 245 in the contest.  The team will compete at State on April 27th at Texas A&M University in College Station.

 

The Homesite Judging Team of Raylee Hutchins, Emily Baker, Kade Minshew, Jordan Valdez, Laynie Evans, and Sierra Lorah placed 3rd in Area as a Team and was led by Raylee Hutchins who was the 6th high overall individual out of 36 in the contest.  The team will compete at State on April 29th at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

 

The Land Judging Team of Madi Martin, Halle Lance, Skylar Hutchins, Jordyn Pitts, Neileigh Strickland, and Marissa Perez placed 5th as a team and was led by Madi Martin who was the 9th high overall individual out of 63 in the contest.  The team will compete at State on April 29th at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

The Bangs HS UIL OAP Company is proud and excited to be performing our production of The Sweet Science of Bruising at the 3A Region 1 competition at the Naoma Huff Performing Arts Center at Clyde HS!  Entrance fee is $10 per adult, $5 per student! We hope to see you there!!

Bangs High School inducted 39 new members into the National Honor Society. Because of Covid-19, we did not have the opportunity to have an induction last year, so this induction class was much larger than most years. It's a Great Day to be a Dragon!

FCCLA State Dallas - April 9-10, 2021 (Two National Qualifiers)

The State FCCLA Leadership Conference theme “Discover Your Voice” engaged over 4000 members and advisors in virtual and face-to-face competitive and leadership activities. FCCLA members participated in more than 35 competitive events and FCSA testing events. Bangs students pre-recorded their virtual presentations and attended virtual leadership sessions. The top two state competitors in each STAR Event advance to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville Tennessee virtually June 27 - July 2.

National qualifiers from Bangs included:

Food Innovations Level 2: Isabella Helmick - 1st Place “Berry-licious Cheesecake” plus $5000 Escoffier Scholarship

Interior Design Level 2: Anna Nance - 2nd Place “Smith Project”

plus Gray Technology Chief Architect; Architectural Home Design Student Software

Other State qualifiers included:

Food Innovations Level 2: Grayson Loman “32 Raison Spice Cake”

Repurpose & Redesign Level 2: Kirsten Poling “Paper Flowers; Let it Bloom”

With FCCLA, youth learn how to make a difference in their families, communities and future careers. Members learn important life skills such as leadership, planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision-making and interpersonal communication.
